Yesterday, the\u00a0<b><strong>highest maximum temperature of 40.0\u00b0C<\/strong><\/b>\u00a0was reported at<b><strong>\u00a0Bhubaneshwar (Odisha)<\/strong><\/b>\u00a0over the country<b><strong>(Annexure 1 &amp; 2).<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><strong>Temperatures Recorded at 1430 Hours IST of Today, the 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0March, 2021<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<p>o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<b><strong>Akola (Vidarbha)\u00a0<\/strong><\/b>recorded\u00a0<b><strong>the highest temperature of 38.9\u00b0C (Annexure 3).<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<b><strong>Temperatures recorded at 1430 hours IST of today have risen\u00a0<\/strong><\/b><b><strong>by 1-2<\/strong><\/b><b><strong>\u00b0C<\/strong><\/b>\u00a0at many places overSub-Himalayan West Bengal &amp; Sikkim and Assam &amp;\u00a0 Meghalaya; at a few places over Jammu &amp; Kashmir \u00a0and at isolated places over Punjab, West Rajasthan, Saurashtra &amp; Kutch, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Vidarbha, Tamilnadu and Odisha\u00a0<b><strong>(Annexure 4).<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><strong><u>Heat Wave Warnings for Next 5 Days (on next page)<\/u><\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<p>o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Maximum temperatures are currently 3-6\u00b0C above normal over north &amp; central parts of India includes East Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh &amp; Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, east Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal.<\/p>\n<p>o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0It is likely to fall by 1-2\u00b0C over Northwest &amp; adjoining Central India during next 2 days (01st-03rd March). No significant change in maximum temperatures over rest parts of the country.<\/p>\n<p><b><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/b><b><strong>Heat Wave<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Heat wave is considered if maximum temperature of a station reaches at least 40\u00b0C or more for Plains, 37\u00b0C or more for coastal stations and at least 30\u00b0C or more for Hilly regions.
