The country\u2019s present active caseload now consists of\u00a0<strong>1.51%<\/strong> of India\u2019s total Positive Cases.\u00a0<strong>80.33% of the new cases<\/strong> are from 5 States. Maharashtra continues to report the highest daily new cases at 6,397. It is followed by Kerala with 1,938 while Punjab reported 633 new cases. Two states,\u00a0<strong>Maharashtra and Kerala\u00a0<\/strong>alone account for\u00a0<strong>67.84%<\/strong>\u00a0of total active cases.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Centre is continuously engaging with the States and UTs manifesting higher caseload of active cases and those reporting a rise in the daily new COVID cases. States\/UTs have been advised to maintain a continued rigorous vigil for containing the spread of COVID-19. Need for effective testing, comprehensive tracking, prompt isolation of positive cases and quick quarantine of close contacts are strongly emphasized. Eight states are displaying an upward trajectory in daily new cases.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Five States<\/strong>\u00a0cumulatively account for\u00a0<strong>84.16%<\/strong>\u00a0of the total active cases in the country. Maharashtra alone accounts for 46.82% of India\u2019s total active cases, followed by Kerala with 28.61%.Six States\/UTs have a weekly Positivity Rate higher than the\u00a0<strong>national average of 2.00%.<\/strong>\u00a0Maharashtra leads all the states with a weekly positivity rate of 10.02%.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A total of\u00a01,48,54,136\u00a0vaccine doses have been administered as per the provisional report till 7 am today. These include\u00a067,04,613\u00a0Healthcare workers (HCW)s who got 1st dose,\u00a025,97,799\u00a0HCWs (2nd dose) and\u00a053,44,453\u00a0Frontline workers (FLW)s who got 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0dose, 24,279 beneficiaries aged more than 45 years with specific co-morbidities (1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0Dose) and 1,82,992 beneficiaries aged more than 60 years.<\/p>\n<p>The 2nd dose of COVID19 vaccination started on 13<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0February, 2021 for those beneficiaries who have completed 28 days after receipt of the 1st dose. Vaccination of the Frontline Workers (FLWs) started on 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Feb 2021. More than 1.07 Cr (1,07,98,921) people has recovered so far. 12,464 patients have recovered and got discharged in the last 24 hours.\u00a0India\u2019s Recovery Rate at 97.07% continues to be amongst the highest in the world.<\/p>\n<p><strong>86.55%<\/strong> of the new recovered cases are observed to be concentrated in 6 States. Maharashtra has reported the maximum number of single day recoveries with\u00a0<strong>5,754<\/strong>\u00a0newly recovered cases.\u00a0<strong>3,475<\/strong>\u00a0people recovered in Kerala in the past 24 hours followed by\u00a0<strong>482<\/strong>\u00a0in Tamil Nadu.<strong>91 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours<\/strong>. Six States account for\u00a0<strong>85.71%\u00a0<\/strong>of the new deaths. Maharashtra saw the maximum casualties (30). Punjab follows with 18 daily deaths.
