Amid ongoing COVID-19 situation, 20 vehicles would be deployed in all the districts to be used as ambulances: Anil Vij<\/h2>\n

Chandigarh, April 26: Haryana Health and Home Minister, Anil Vij said that amid ongoing COVID-19 situation,\u00a0 20 vehicles each of Dail 112 would be deployed\u00a0 in all the districts so that these vehicles can be used as ambulances.<\/p>\n

While presiding over the meeting of the State-level COVID Monitoring Committee, Vij said that this step will facilitate critical patients to reach the hospitals on time.<\/p>\n

He said that the MBBS and final year\u00a0PG students studying in medical colleges will also be deputed so that the patients do not face any problem in the hospitals.\u00a0 With this, government employees of the state who are suffering from COVID-19 infection\u00a0would be provided with the facility of\u00a0cashless treatment in private hospitals.<\/p>\n

The Health Minister said that the government is taking concrete steps to ensure\u00a0 the availability of oxygen to all the needy patients in the state.<\/p>\n

The state currently requires 270 MT of oxygen, while Haryana is currently getting 162 MT of oxygen from the Centre.\u00a0 A request has been made by the State Government to\u00a0 the Central Government to increase the current oxygen supply quantity to to 270 MT. With this, all the big industries have been directed\u00a0 to convert industrial oxygen into medical oxygen to meet the needs of the state, said Vij.<\/p>\n

Vij said that to overcome the shortage of oxygen cylinders in the state, industries would have to deposit their cylinders with the concerned Deputy Commissioners, otherwise their cylinder stocks\u00a0 would be acquired. Besides this, the police will also keep a close vigil\u00a0 on the movement of oxygen tankers and the\u00a0 supply process, said the Home Minister.<\/p>\n

The Home Minister further said\u00a0 that all the private and government hospitals of the state have been directed to set up their own oxygen plants so that oxygen shortage can be avoided in future.<\/p>\n

The Health Minister said that the Deputy Commissioners have been directed\u00a0 to make arrangements of\u00a0 additional beds in their districts.\u00a0 For this, the use of vacant halls, schools, dharamshalas and the support from social organizations can be taken.<\/p>\n

He said that a 15 to 20 minute programme of the senior doctors who having the knowledge of tackling COVID-19 patients will be telecast on local TV channels and cable networks. In these programmes, COVID-19 patients would be informed about COVID-19\u00a0 protocol and precautions they have to take to keep them safe.\u00a0 Besides this,\u00a0 physicians will also share\u00a0 the correct procedure with the patients to be followed\u00a0 \u00a0for treatment.<\/p>\n

Chief Secretary, Vijai Vardhan and Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister DS Dhesi also apprised the Home Minister regarding present situation in the state.<\/p>\n

In the meeting,\u00a0 Additional Chief Secretary, Power Department, P.K Das, Additional Chief Secretary,\u00a0 Medical Education and Research Department, Alok Nigam, Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare\u00a0 Department and Member Secretary of the Committee, Rajeev Arora,\u00a0\u00a0Additional Principal Secratary to Chief Minister and Director General, Information Public Relations and Languages Department, Dr. Amit Agrawal, Managing Director, Haryana Medical Services Corporation, Saket Kumar, Mission Director, National Health Mission, Haryana, Prabhjot Singh, Director Medical Education and Research, Dr. Shale en, Director General of Police, Manoj Yadva and many other senior officials were present.<\/p>\n
