Chandigarh, 21May<\/strong> \u2013 A virtual webinar, \u2018Challenges in Biodiversity Conservation-State\u2019s Perspective\u2019, was organized by Haryana State Biodiversity Board to mark International Day for Bio Diversity to highlight the importance and challenges of biodiversity conservation. The Webinar was chaired by Chairman, Sh. Vineet Garg.<\/p>\n

It is worth mentioning that International Day for Bio Diversity is observed every year on May 22.\u00a0 In view of COVID-19 pandemic this year it was decided to observe the day by organizing essay writing, quizzes, painting and photography competitions and a webinar on biodiversity conservation.<\/p>\n

Giving this information today, a spokesperson of the Board said that eminent persons from diverse fields i.e.\u00a0 Secretary, Forest & Wildlife Department, Dr.\u00a0 TP Singh, Expert in Soil Conservation and Former Director, Dr.\u00a0 SS Grewal, Principal Secretary, Tourism Department, Sh. MD Sinha, Director General Pushpa Gujral Science City Punjab, Dr.\u00a0 Neelima Jerath, Dr.\u00a0 Sumunder Singh and Dr.\u00a0 Sharda Gupta were the key Speakers in the Webinar.<\/p>\n

Smt. Ruchi Kaushal introduced all the participants about the Webinar on “Challenges in Biodiversity Conservation – State’s Perspective and a presentation was also given by her on the biodiversity. Sh. Vineet Garg, welcomed all the Speakers and the officers and officials who attended this Webinar.<\/p>\n

The result of the different competitions, which were held on May 17, 2021 online, was also announced during the Webinar.\u00a0 The Chairman congratulated all the winners of these competitions who have secured First, Second and Third positions and also conveyed best wishes for their bright future.<\/p>\n

All Chief Conservators of Forests (Territorial), all DFOs (Territorial) in Haryana, District Coordinators, HSBB and Winners of Competitions attended this Webinar online.<\/p>\n
