Introduction of Kisan Rails have given farmers wide access of Indian markets. Kisan Rail have so far carried 2.7 lakh tonnes of consignment. Till now, 60 routes have been operationalised.<\/p>\n<p>Railways have been relentlessly pursuing with various stake holders \u2013 including Ministry of Agriculture &amp; Farmers Welfare, state governments (including departments of agriculture\/ horticulture\/ fisheries, etc), and local bodies and agencies, Mandis etc \u2013 to plan roll out of Kisan Rail services.<\/p>\n<p>Salient features of Kisan Rail:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Enables movement of perishables including fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry, fishery and dairy products from production or surplus regions to consumption or deficient regions;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Speedy movement ensures minimum damage during transit;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Enables farmers to utilize the vast railway network to gain access to distant, bigger and more lucrative markets;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 50 percent subsidy is given in freight (being borne by Ministry of Food Processing Industries under \u2018Operation Greens \u2013 TOP to Total\u2019 scheme) for transportation of fruits and vegetables;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Based on the concept of multi commodity, multi consignor, multi consignee, multi stoppages, time-tabled trains \u2013 to help small farmers with lesser produce also to transport their consignment without any middleman;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 No minimum limit on quantity that can be booked, enabling even small and marginal farmers to reach bigger and distant markets;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 End-consumers (at bigger cities and consumption centers) get fresher produce at cheaper prices, due to reduction in transportation time as well as costs.<\/p>\n<p>In compliance to the announcement made in Union Budget 2020-21, Kisan Rail trains have been introduced by Indian Railways \u2013 to move perishables and farm-produce (including fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry, fishery and dairy products) from production or surplus regions to consumption or deficient regions.<\/p>\n<p>\uf0d8\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The first train under Kisan Rail scheme \u2013 between Devlali (Mah) and Danapur (Bihar) \u2013 was flagged-off by Hon\u2019ble Minister of Railways and Commerce &amp; Industry Shri Piyush Goyal and Hon\u2019ble Minister of Agriculture &amp; Farmers\u2019 Welfare Shri Narendra Singh Tomar on 07.08.2020. This train has subsequently been extended to run between Sangola (Mah) and Muzaffarpur (Bihar).<\/p>\n<p>\uf0d8\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The 100th trip under Kisan Rail scheme \u2013 between Sangola (Mah) and Shalimar (WB) \u2013 was flagged-off by Hon\u2019ble Prime Minister on 28th December 2020.<\/p>\n<p>\uf0d8\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Till 18th June\u00a0 2021, a total of 850 trips of Kisan Rail trains were operated on 60 routes, transporting more than 2.7 lakh Tonnes of consignments. The monthly performance of these trains during 2021 has been as under:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>January 2021 \u00a0 \u2013 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a082 trips (32,332 Tonnes)<\/p>\n<p>February 2021 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u2013 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 128 trips (41,665 Tonnes)<\/p>\n<p>March 2021 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u2013 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 133 trips (40,695 Tonnes)<\/p>\n<p>April 2021\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 127 trips (39,518 Tonnes)<\/p>\n<p>May 2021 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 173 Trips (55,300 Tonnes)<\/p>\n<p>June (upto 18th )\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 93 Trips (32,542 Tonnes)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\uf0d8\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Kisan Rail trains are run on time-tabled paths, and are being monitored for punctuality as well as to ensure that perishable commodities reach their destinations within due time, and also that Indian Railways\u2019 resources are utilized in the most optimal manner.<\/p>\n<p>Main crops\/farm-produce transported via Kisan Rail train include oranges, onion, potato, banana, mango, tomato, pomegranate, custard apple, capsicum, chikoo, carrot, etc<\/p>\n<p>Pricing and Subsidy:\u00a0 All the Kisan Rail train services are being charged at \u2018P-scale\u2019 of Parcel tariff.<\/p>\n<p>Under \u2018Operation Greens \u2013 TOP to Total\u2019 scheme of Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) 50% subsidy in freight is granted on transportation of fruits and vegetables through Kisan Rail trains services.<\/p>\n<p>Since the introduction of this subsidy scheme (with effect from 14th October 2020) till 15th June 2021, an amount of Rs 52.38 crore approx has been disbursed as subsidy through Kisan Rail.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/specificdocs\/documents\/2021\/jun\/doc202162361.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>List of Kisan Rail Routes<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u0a2e\u0a3e\u0a2b\u0a3c \u0a15\u0a30\u0a28\u0a3e, \u0a07\u0a39 \u0a16\u0a2c\u0a30 \u0a24\u0a41\u0a39\u0a3e\u0a21\u0a40 \u0a2c\u0a47\u0a28\u0a24\u0a40 \u0a2d\u0a3e\u0a38\u0a3c\u0a3e \u0a35\u0a3f\u0a71\u0a1a \u0a09\u0a2a\u0a32\u0a2c\u0a27 \u0a28\u0a39\u0a40\u0a02 \u0a39\u0a48\u0964 \u0a15\u0a3f\u0a30\u0a2a\u0a3e \u0a15\u0a30\u0a15\u0a47 \u0a07\u0a71\u0a25\u0a47 \u0a26\u0a47\u0a16\u0a4b\u0964 60 Routes operationalised till now Delhi 23 JUN 2021 Indian Railways, with its pan-India network, forms an integral part of the government plan to raise incomes in farm sector by encouraging transportation by rail.
