Directs to assure quality works, proper\u00a0enforcement of labour laws<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

KARGIL, JULY 06, 2021:<\/strong> Secretary Tourism, Labour and Employment Ladakh Mehboob Ali Khan convened a meeting with the concerned officers of Tourism Department to review the pace of various ongoing works in Tourism sector in Zanskar Sub Division here on Monday.<\/p>\n

Director Tourism\u00a0Kunzes Angmo, Under Secretary Arifa Iqbal, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Zanskar Development Authority Sonam Dorjay, Tourist Officer Zanskar,\u00a0engineers of ZDA besides other concerned officers were present during the meeting.<\/p>\n

Secretary Mehboob Ali Khan while underlining the need for creation of quality infrastructural assets directed engineers concerned not to compromise on quality of work and standard of materials. He also instructed them to ensure proper enforcement of labour laws for labourers at the work sites.<\/p>\n

The Secretary Tourism also said that infrastructural assets must be designed and constructed on traditional Ladakhi architecture while also adhering to the requirements of all climatic local conditions and carbon neutrality.<\/p>\n

The Secretary reviewed the pace of ongoing works of Tourism Sector under District Plan, State Sector, PMDP and SDP. The\u00a0identification state land\u00a0was also conveyed to the meeting.<\/p>\n

Mehboob Ali Khan was also informed about the ongoing projects undertaken by Zanskar Development Authority (ZDA). It was directed\u00a0to ZDA to propose five years maintenance contract for any kind of infrastructural\u00a0structure including buildings, bore wells, heating systems\u00a0and other structural assets.<\/p>\n

Secretary\u00a0Khan also visited various heritage sites as such Karsha monastery, Sani monastery, photang, Eidgah Padum, Gyalwa Ringna Padum and Guru monastery Pipiting.<\/p>\n

Pertaining the assesment of various works carried by ZDA the Secretary reviewed the status of beautification of Sani Lake, beautification of Eidgah, renovation of dak bungalow Padum, dining hall and office of Tourist Officer at tourist complex Padum.<\/p>\n

Secretary Mehboob Ali khan also interacted with various public delegations where in President Zanskar Buddhist Association, President Anjuman Moinul Islam, Head Lama of Karsha gompa,<\/p>\n

Head Lama Pardan gompa, political representatives and civil society members put forward their demands.<\/p>\n

The Secretary Tourism assured that\u00a0necessary measures will be taken pertaining the demands.<\/p>\n
