Chandigarh, August 11<\/strong> \u2013 Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that the State Government would make efforts to open two self-help group shops in every Secretariat of the State, one for food items and the other for general commodities. This will give employment to the women of these groups and local-brands will be encouraged.\u00a0\u00a0It is our endeavour to brand the products of these SHGs so that there is no need to look at big brands, he added.<\/p>\n

He was addressing the Teej Mahotsav organized with the participation of self-help groups of ‘Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission’ at Yadavindra Garden, Pinjore today as the Chief Guest.\u00a0\u00a0Cultural programmes were also organized during this festival organized to commemorate the 75th Amrit Mahotsav of India’s Independence.\u00a0\u00a0Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Sh. Anoop Dhanak was also present on the occasion.\u00a0\u00a0Apart from these, Additional Chief Secretary, Development and Panchayats Department, Sh. Amit Jha, Director General, Sh. RC Bidhan, Chief Executive Officer, Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission, Dr. Amarinder Kaur and other officers of the department were present.<\/p>\n

The Deputy Chief Minister inspected the exhibition of handicrafts of Self Help Groups.\u00a0\u00a0Thereafter loans were distributed to such Self Help Groups.\u00a0\u00a0Apart from this, awards for best stall, best district and best group were also distributed.\u00a0\u00a0He especially appreciated the self-help group from Gurugram, which launched its products in the market by registering with the ‘Food Safety and Standards Authority of India’.<\/p>\n

While congratulating the women during the festival, Sh. Dushyant Chautala emphasized the need to empower women. He praised the products made by the women of Self Help Groups in today’s exhibition and said that now women are not limited to household chores or stitching\/weaving rather they have showcased their talent in every field and with such self help groups, rural areas are getting empowered. He said that ‘Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission’ has empowered 4.50 lakh women so far and in future whatever assistance is needed from the State Government for skilling these groups will be provided.<\/p>\n
