Players should not face any inconvenience during Khelo India Youth Games-2021, Chief Secretary

Chief Secretary presides over the fifth meeting of Executive Committee constituted for Khelo India Youth Games-2021

Deputy Commissioners to pay special attention to cleanliness and boarding and lodging of players, directs Chief Secretary

Chandigarh, May 18 :-  Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal directed the officers concerned regarding the preparations for the Khelo India Youth Games – 2021, to be held from June 4 to June 13, 2022 and to pay special attention to cleanliness and boarding and lodging of players, so that the players do not face any inconvenience.

        He said that a new record has to be created by successfully organizing these games, so that these games especially Haryana’s hospitality is memorable.

        The Chief Secretary was presiding over the fifth meeting of the Executive Committee constituted regarding the preparations for the Khelo India Youth Games – 2021, here today.

        Sh. Kaushal directed the Deputy Commissioners of Ambala, Kurukshetra and Panchkula present during the meeting that fire fighting vehicles must be deployed in the sports complexes where these games are to be organized so that any untoward incident can be avoided. Apart from this, from the security point of view, all the places should be closely monitored by the Police Department besides which DFMD, HHMD and X-Ray Bag Scanner machines should also be installed by the Police Department in all the sports complexes.

        He also directed that Help desks should be set up at bus stands and railway stations for the convenience of the players and promotional material of Khelo India Youth Games – 2021 should also be displayed at these places.

        Sh. Kaushal said that special attention should be paid towards arrangement of toilets and accommodation of women players so that they do not face any kind of problem. Apart from this, women supervisor should be compulsorily posted at the places where women players will be accommodated.

Medical facility will be available for players

        There will be deployment of doctors, nurses and physiotherapists etc. at the sports complexes for the players participating in the Khelo India Youth Games – 2021. Apart from this, tertiary level health services will also be available in hospitals in case of emergency.

Sports Expo to be organized

        To make the Khelo India Youth Games – 2021 more attractive and memorable for the spectators, a Sports Expo will also be organized, in which pavilions based on various sports will be made. Apart from this, pavilions will also be setup depicting the achievements of the players who have brought laurels to their state and country at the national and international level.

People’s participation is being ensured through Rahgiri programmes and selfie points

        It was informed in the meeting that in order to make this grand event memorable for both the participants and the spectators, under Khelo India Youth Games-2021, Rahgiri programmes are being organized in all the districts and people participate in these programmes with great enthusiasm and zeal. Besides this, a vehicle ‘Dhakad on Wheels’ carrying a torch and a mascot is also touring the state.

It was informed in the meeting that selfie points with mascots or other attractive symbols are being created at famous tourist places and sports complexes of the city, where these games will be organized, so that the spectators can take back wonderful memories of the event.

        Additional Chief Secretary, Power Department, Sh. P K Das, Additional Chief Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Sh. Mahavir Singh, Director, Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Sh. Pankaj Nain, Principal Secretary, Transport Department, Sh. Navdeep Singh Virk and other officers also remained present in the meeting. Apart from this, Secretary, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, Smt. Sujata Chaturvedi, Secretary, Sports Authority of India, Sh. Rohit Bhardwaj and other members attended the meeting through video conferencing.
