Chandigarh, 09 September 2025

Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij today emphasized that politics must be seen as a medium of service and not as a path to personal comfort or luxury. He said that “For the Bharatiya Janata Party, service is not a new domain. Just as a child is given a sweet when born, similarly, upon entering the BJP, one is taught the importance of service.”

Speaking to media persons in Panchkula, Sh. Vij said that Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s birthday will be celebrated on September 17, and from that day until October 2—the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi—the party will undertake an intensive service campaign. He explained that the party will meet collectively to decide how best to organize different service-oriented activities during this period.

Sh. Vij said that the scope of service is vast, ranging from organizing blood donation camps, to tree plantation drives and related to education. Giving an example, he said that “Just as candles are lit on a birthday cake to mark the years, in the same way, keeping in mind the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Modi, service activities will be designed around the number 75.”

Responding to a question about symbolic activities such as planting 75 saplings or organizing events based on the number 75, Sh. Vij said that “This is a very good idea. Prime Minister Modi is not only the leader of our nation but has also become a global brand. Therefore, in celebrating his birthday, the figure 75 will be the guiding benchmark, and all activities will be aligned with it, he said.”
