Additional Chief Secretary, Public Health and Engineering, Irrigation and Water Resources Department, Haryana, Sh. Devender Singh has directed the officers to make people aware of schemes and programmes like Atal Bhujal, Jal Jeevan Mission, Micro Irrigation and launch a campaign to ensure that Haryana can become a leading state in the country in achieving the goal of ‘Har Ghar Nal Se Jal’ of the National Jal Jeevan Mission.

Sh. Devender Singh said this while attending a virtual interaction presided over by Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi with water committees formed in rural areas of various states under Jal Jeevan Mission today. Sh. Devender Singh attended the programme on behalf of Haryana.
Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Devender Singh said that the students of science should be motivated for quality testing of water and regular samples of water should be taken.
He said that plans are also being made by the Haryana Pond Authority to treat the water of the ponds of the state and use it for other works. Better results can be obtained if all the schemes and programmes related to water life are integrated, said Sh. Devender Singh.
He directed the officers to upload the Jal Jeevan Mission mobile app launched by Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi on the department’s portal so that maximum information can be obtained under this mission.
Sh. Devendra Singh said that people should be aware of what is Atal Bhujal Yojana and what programmes have been included under it.
A documentary film on Jal Jeevan Mission prepared by the Ministry of Jal Shakti was also shown on the occasion.
The Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Sh. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, in his welcome address, inquired about the importance of the Jal Jeevan Mission in detail. Ministers of State for Jal Shakti, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel and Shri Bishweshwar Tudu, Union Secretary, Shri Pankaj Kumar and Director Jal Jeevan Mission, Sh. Bharat Lal were also present on the occasion. Chief Ministers, Ministers and senior officials of various states were present in the virtual meeting with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
