Shiromani Akali Dal today exposed gross misuse of power by Bhagwant Mann government to gain personal benefits for ruling party members even as party slammed the government for misusing government school premises for stationing CM security and declaring holiday in them. Party also lauded reaction of senior leader Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa on apology tendered by party President Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal.
Addressing a press conference here at party head office along with party spokesperson Shaminder Kaur and Campus President Bhoora Singh, party’s Chief Spokesman and Legal Wing President Advocate Arshdeep Singh Kler said that the government had issued a notice to Forest Hill Resort situated near Chandigarh on 5.9.23 accusing it of gross violations of rules and regulations. He said that hotel authorities responded to allegations and submitted a detailed reply on 13.10.23 to the concerned department headed by Cabinet Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer. He said that without disclosing to people about reply of the hotel authorities and action taken against it, a marriage function of Cabinet Minister Meet Hayer was held on 7.11.23.
He said that action of the government against the hotel and subsequently allowing it to restart functioning without disclosing action against it and hosting of function of Minister indicated towards corrupt practices. He said that was same Minister who was earlier accused of misusing power in infamous Amritsar Kulcha case where a hotel was also issued notice.
He said that actions of the Bhagwant Mann led AAP government indicates that something was going on as per hidden agenda to get favouritism for members of the ruling party. He said that CM Bhagwant Mann should clear status on this issue.
Raising another issue, SAD Chief Spokesman said that AAP government had issued orders on to host Parent-Teacher meeting in all government schools on 16.12.23. But today an order has been issued for Bathinda schools to shut them down so as to accommodate CM Security detail as CM would hold rally in Bathinda district on same day. He said that it was shocking that AAP government was least bothered for wellbeing and education of the children and more concerened about stationing CM security detail.
Raising another issue of Lawrence Bishnoit Interview, Advocate Kler said that Government had formed SIT to investigate the issue of interviews which has submitted its report to Punjab and Haryana High Court stating that it was inevitable to hold interviews in Punjab Jail. He said that fact of the matter is that Bishnoi’s second interview was held in same costume image of which was released by Punjab Police claiming that he was donning that outfit in Punjab. He apprehended that a conspiracy might by hatched to get Bishnoi acquitted in Sidhu Moosewal murder case.
Responding to a media query, SAD Spokesman said that reaction of senior leader S. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa on apology tender by S. Sukhbir Singh Badal was a positive development and add that whatever happens in future it is between senior leadership of party and him.
Responding to questions raised by media, SAD leader asked CM Bhagwant Mann what he did at Sultanpur Lodhi Gurdwara Sahib on the eve of Gurpurab of Guru Nanak Dev ji was equal to attack on Sri Darbar Sahib by Indira Gandhi as it was first time after 1984 that such attack on Gurdwara Sahib has took place. He said that he was guilty in the matter on the pattern of Indira Gandhi, he should reply about this incident and other sacrilege incidents occurred in the state including at Morinda, Sri Anandpur Sahib and Patiala besides others to Punjabis on why they were occurring repeatedly hurting Sikh senitments.
