Sahir Ludhianvi remembered in his college on his 43rd death anniversary

On the occasion of 43rd death anniversary of their beloved poet Sahir Ludhianvi, the SCD Govt. College  Ludhiana Alumni Association collaborated with the college authorities in remembering this literary genius who was once an alumnus of the college . Outside Sahir Auditorium in the college ,the Alumni Association executives, college staff and new generation students paid floral tributes on Sahir’s plaque and lighted candles ..

Principal Tanvir Likhari said that the college always held Sahir in high esteem as his progressive poetry continues to inspire young minds. Alumni Association Organising secretary Brij Bhushan Goyal said that it’s Sahir’s Alma Mater which invariably remembers this legendary poet keeping alive the values enshrined in Sahir’s poetry and film lyrics. Also present on the occasion were Dr Satya Rani, Dr. Sajla, Prof Geetanjli, Dr Mukesh, Prof Basra, Prof. Arun, Prof. Mrs Bajwa, Dr P D Gupta, Ashok Dheer and Prof. Sohi who are all also Alunni. Students of the college embraced Sahir’s books in their hands thus reminding of Sahir’s poem, ‘Nai Nasal Tujh Ko Mera Salam’ which the poet read at the time of Golden Jubilee celebrations in the international mushaira he attended in the college in the year 1970. Alumni Association thanked college authorities for the efforts.
