Chandigarh, 22 January 2025

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that from the 8th to the 19th century, India suffered great damage to its spiritual and cultural traditions due to attacks by foreign invaders. He said that the steps taken by Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi during the Amrit Kaal of Independence, with the resolve of “Ek Bharat–Shreshtha Bharat,” shall ensure that India’s glorious history resonates across the world for the next 1,000 years. He added that this will be ensured not only through political leadership, but through active participation of society.

On Thursday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended the idol consecration ceremony of Sh. Siddh Baba Mahant Budhnath Ji Maharaj and the Asht Maan Bhandara at Baba Nage Dham in Murthal, Sonipat, and enthroned Bal Yogi Masaan Ji Maharaj as Mahant. Addressing thousands of Nath sect yogis, peethadheeshwars, saints and devotees from across the country, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Sanatan Dharma is not merely a method of worship, but a comprehensive culture that gives direction to life.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath congratulated and extended heartfelt best wishes to Peethadheeshwar Sh. Mahant Baba Balak Nath Ji Maharaj and Shrimant Bal Yogi Masaan Nath Ji Maharaj on this divine occasion, stating that with unwavering faith in the guru tradition, they have realised this historic event in accordance with public sentiments.

CM Yogi Adityanath said that the construction of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, the grand development of the Kashi Vishwanath Dham, and the unprecedented participation of devotees in Prayagraj are proof of India’s cultural grandeur. He said that the participation of around 4.5 crore devotees taking a holy dip at the Sangam in Prayagraj on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya is a matter of astonishment for the world. This reflects India’s spiritual strength, the penance of saints and efficient administration. He said that the coming thousand years will belong to India and will take Sanatan Dharma to its highest glory, for which every section of society must work together.

Cooperation, Jails, Election, Heritage and Tourism Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma said that India’s cultural heritage is its strength, and on the basis of this strength, India is showing the world the path of peace and harmony. He said that in Haryana, Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini is continuously working for the promotion and preservation of religious and cultural traditions, so that devotees can connect with their deities with full devotion.

Welcoming the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Sh. Sh. 1008 Baba Gorakhnath Peethadheeshwar Mahant Yogi Adityanath, Cooperation Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma said that in the presence of Yogi Adityanath—who holds a unique position in the Nath sect and is continuously transforming Uttar Pradesh into an exemplary state through his administrative efficiency—Baba Masaan Nath has been enthroned as Mahant at Baba Nage Dham. He said that this is a moment of pride for Sanatan faith, spiritual practice and cultural consciousness.
