Jammu, 08 September 2025:
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir President and former minister, Sat Sharma (CA), convened a meeting with the Bengali residents of Jammu at the party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar.
The meeting was organized as part of the commemoration of Bengali Samaj Milan Samaroh and the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations under the nationwide initiative of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” Abhiyan.
J&K BJP General Secretary and Convenor of the Abhiyan, Baldev Singh Billawaria, Abhiyan Co-convenor Raman Suri, and party leaders Ravesh Mengi, Ramesh Kumar, and Kulbir Charak were among the other prominent leaders present on the occasion.
West Bengal residents, Hiranmay Alu, Sawdesh Dhara, Avijit Barh, Mansa Chowdhry, Prasenjit Roy, Samir Kumar Hait, Kartik Mallik, and Dilip Kumar Pandit were among the prominent present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Sat Sharma highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Bengal and its significant contribution to India’s spiritual, social, and intellectual fabric. He said that India’s strength lies in its unity in diversity. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, every effort is being made to connect people across regions and cultures, ensuring that every community feels equally respected and included in the journey towards a Viksit Bharat, he said.
“We must all rise above narrow divisions and work together with philanthropism for the well-being of all. When all cultures join hands, India not only grows stronger internally but also takes bold steps toward becoming a global leader,” Sharma added.
Sharma further emphasized that the mission of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” is not just about celebrating festivals together but about fostering mutual respect, peace, and shared prosperity. He prompted all to take a pledge to strengthen the bonds of unity and work collectively for the goal of Viksit Bharat, a developed India by 2047.
Baldev Singh Billawaria also underlined the Modi government’s commitment to inclusive development, ensuring that every resident of India contributes to and benefits from the nation’s progress. He said the celebrations of Durga Puja and Bengali Samaj Milan in Jammu are a symbol of this cultural integration and brotherhood.
