Jammu, 22 August 2025:
Senior BJP leaders and MLAs, Sham Lal Sharma and Mohan Lal Bhagat, while holding a Public Grievances Camp at the party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, to listen to the grievances of people from different areas stressed on the early repair of the lanes and drains, including the damaged electricity and PHE network due to the heavy rains to avoid further public distress.
A large number of deputations from Sainik Colony, Gool Ramban, Channi Himmat, Khairi Raipur, Karan Nagar, Shiv Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, Greater Kailash, Bhalwal, Muthi, Ploura, Bantalab, Jourian Akhnoor, Pargwal and other localities placed their issues before the leaders.
The deputations highlighted concerns related to construction and repair of roads, lanes and drains damaged due to the recent heavy rains, clearance of clogged drains, shifting of electric poles, construction of stair passage, modification of passenger drop facilities at the railway platform, streetlight installation and repair, repair of PHE pipes, hand pumps and tubewells, besides certain land-related and police department issues.
Addressing the gathering, Sham Lal Sharma emphasized that ensuring reliable public services is the foremost responsibility of every department. He stressed that the people should not suffer due to damaged infrastructure, irregular power or water supply. He said that they have taken a strong note of the issues raised today and have immediately forwarded them to the concerned departments. He assured the deputations that every matter will be pursued on priority so that the public is not put to any further inconvenience.
Mohan Lal Bhagat reaffirmed BJP’s commitment to serve the masses. He stressed that every household should have access to uninterrupted electricity, clean drinking water and properly maintained lanes and drains. Public departments must deliver their services efficiently, he said and added that the grievances raised by the people will receive early attention and redressal.
Er. Dil Bahadur Jamwal, Party Incharge for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, coordinated the camp proceedings and highlighted that recurring issues related to the PHE Department, particularly water scarcity and inadequate maintenance need to be resolved on priority.
