Chandigarh, February 9: Haryana Home Minister, Anil Vij said that SIT Chief, Bharti Arora and her team would be honoured by the Home Department for doing outstanding work while tightening the noose on cases of human trafficking (kabootarbazi).

The Home Minister appreciated the way the team has worked and said that the team has succeeded in nabbing 452 human traffickers across Haryana. He said that it is noteworthy that a SIT was formed under the supervision of IG, Karnal Police Range, Bharti Arora to curb human traffickers from Haryana. Taking strict action against the human traffickers, the team arrested many individuals and made a huge recovery from their possession, he added. He said that now the Home Department has decided to honour Bharti Arora and her team.

Vij said that this team led by Bharti Arora consisted of six SP level officers. This team is investigating human traffickers who have duped the youth of the state by taking lakhs of rupees from them to send them abroad illegally to countries like America, Malaysia, Mexico, Dubai etc, he added. He said that many of the people sent back to India by the governments of those countries are also residents of Haryana.
