Social Education and Panchayat Officer caught red-handed by the State Vigilance Bureau while accepting a bribe

Chandigarh April 1:  Satyawan, a Social Education and Panchayat Officer of  Development & Panchayats Department in Beri of Jhajjar district has been caught red-handed by the State Vigilance Bureau (SVB), Haryana while accepting a bribe of  Rs. 8,000.

Dinesh Kumar, Sarpanch of Village M.P. Majra of district Jhajjar has filed a complaint at State Vigilance Bureau office in Jhajjar that development works of  Rs. 60 Lakh have been completed by him in the Village. A complaint has also been filed by villagers at Block Development and Panchayat Office, Beri.

As per the complaint filed accused Satyawan demanded a bribe of Rs. 2 Lack from village Sarpanch to prepare a report in his favor. Rs. 1,20,000/- have already been paid to the accused in installments.

 After receiving the information that the balance amount of Rs. 8,000 which is to paid today as a bribe, a team headed by Inspector Jai Narayan, SVB, Jhajjar was constituted and Social Education and Panchayat Officer was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe. A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused in Police Station, SVB, Rohtak. The investigation in the case is underway.
