State-Level Celebration of Sant Guru Ravidas Jayanti to be held at Umri, Kurukshetra on January 31

Emphasising the enduring relevance of India’s saintly traditions, Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the state government is actively strengthening social harmony by taking the teachings and life philosophies of great saints and spiritual leaders to the younger generation. With this objective, the state government has institutionalised the practice of organising celebrations on the birth anniversaries of revered saints, sending a strong message of unity, equality and social cohesion across society. Continuing this initiative, the Government will organise a grand state-level ceremony on January 31 at Umri in Kurukshetra to mark the birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji. Development, Panchayat Mines & Geology Minister, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar will preside over the ceremony.
The Chief Minister said this while interacting with the delegation led by Cabinet Minister, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar and Social Justice, Empowerment ,SCs & BCs Welfare and Antyodaya (SEWA), Minister. Sh. Krishan Bedi, at his residence, Sant Kabir Kutir on Friday. On this occasion, both Ministers formally invited the Chief Minister to attend the Sant Guru Ravidas Jayanti celebrations.
Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the teachings of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji continue to illuminate society and guide humanity even today. He reaffirmed the State Government’s unwavering commitment to celebrating Guru Ravidas Jayanti with utmost devotion, respect and grandeur. The Chief Minister appealed to all stakeholders to work with mutual coordination and active participation to make the programme historic and truly memorable.
Providing details of the preparations, Cabinet Minister, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar said that the state-level ceremony will be organised on January 31 at Umri, Kurukshetra, with large-scale participation of devotees. He informed that devotees from 14 districts namely Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal, Panipat, Sonipat, Rohtak, Hisar, Jind, Hansi, Jhajjar and Fatehabad, will participate at the block level, while devotees from the remaining nine districts will join at the district level in large numbers.
He further shared that comprehensive arrangements related to devotee facilities, traffic management, cleanliness, drinking water and security will be ensured well in advance to facilitate the smooth, orderly and dignified conduct of the event. In accordance with the Chief Minister’s directions, special committees will be constituted in every district to coordinate the invitation process, including the distribution of invitation cards and mobilisation of devotees.

Surendra Poonia, BJP leader, Smt. Banto Kataria, and Chief Media Advisor to Union Power Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, Sh. Sudesh Kataria, along with other office-bearers and dignitaries also attended the meeting.
