State Level National Service Awards Distributed

Higher Education Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that National Service Scheme is helpful in refining one’s personality. With proper and qualified guidance, new energy is constantly infused among the youth. Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the 12th State Level National Service Scheme Award programme at Barkatullah University on Monday.
Higher Education Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the objective of National Service Scheme is to develop the personality of the students through social service. He said that rewards always inspire. Community service is a responsibility, it develops the spirit of participation in nation building in the students. Congratulating the volunteers who have been rewarded for their excellent work through national service, he said that now the scope of NSS will have to be expanded further. NSS should also associate with various new courses started under the National Education Policy. Work as Rashtriya Sevak Setu to help in organic farming, construction of water structures, service of challenged people etc.
Higher Education Minister Dr. Yadav said that even in the difficult times of the Corona period, the students of NSS have continuously made important contributions in the social service. He said that from the next financial year, the number of state level awards has been increased from 18 to 20 and the amount of Rs.11 thousand given to the students at the volunteer level has been increased to Rs.21 thousand. The Higher Education Minister honoured 98 volunteers, district organisers and district programme officers with National Service Awards for doing excellent work in the three years 2018-19, 2019-20 and 2020-21. In this 22 principals were also awarded.
