Those who transport goods illegally in Haryana will be punished

Deputy Chief Minister took a review meeting with officers of Excise and Taxation Department

Raiding officers will be equipped with Cameras

Chandigarh, May 13- Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that those who transport goods illegally in Haryana will be cracked down. Strict action will be taken against such violators who will be caught carrying goods in a commercial vehicle without paying any tax. During such vehicle inspections, there will be a team of police force which will accompany the officers of the Taxation Department. He added that raiding officers will be equipped with cameras.

        Haryana Deputy Chief Minister presided over a review meeting of enforcement of Excise and Taxation Department in Chandigarh today. The Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the charge of Excise and Taxation Department, directed to take strict action against such officers who show negligence in their work and also those who don’t sincerely keep a check on such tax evading violators. He said that soon cameras would be procured which would be fitted in the clothes of the raiding officers, their tracking would be done from the headquarters.

        Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that if people do not pay taxes honestly, then there will be revenue losses to the government as it is from this revenue that electricity, water, roads, transport, education, health and other public facilities are provided in the state. He directed the senior officers of the department to take review meetings of their subordinate officers on a monthly basis. In these meetings, information related to tax evasion, raids, recovery and registration of cases etc. will be updated and guidance will be taken from higher officials as per requirement.

        Apart from an in-depth discussion on tax collection and tracking tax evasion violators during the past year, the Deputy Chief Minister also assessed the accomplishments of officers who outperformed and recommended that officers who underperformed be summoned.

Additional Chief Secretary, Excise and Taxation Department, Sh. Anurag Rastogi, Commissioner, Excise and Taxation Department, Sh. Shekhar Vidyarthi, Additional Commissioner, GST, Sh. Siddharth Jain, Additional Commissioner Administrative and Enforcement, Sh. Dheeraj Garg, OSD to Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Kamlesh Bhadoo and other senior officers were present during the meeting.’
