Tokyo Paralympics medal-winners accorded warm welcome by Haryana Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs

Chandigarh, September 3: Haryana Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sh. Sandeep Singh accorded a grand welcome to the Tokyo Paralympics sportspersons at Delhi airport.

        Sh. Sandeep Singh reached Delhi airport late last night to honour and welcome the sportspersons. All the sports persons were felicitated by presenting garlands and shawls. He said that the sports persons participating in Paralympics have overcome all the challenges and hurdles to fulfill their dream of winning medals in double digits for the nation. He said that the entire country is feeling proud of its Paralympics sportspersons.

        He said that by showing determination and hard work, the sportspersons have brought laurels to the entire country. He felicitated all the Indian players including gold medalist Sumit Antil from Haryana in Javelin throw event, Yogesh Kathunia, silver medalist in discus throw, Devendra Jhajharia, Sharad Kumar and all the team members accompanying them. The Sports Minister said that it would also be ensured that Paralympics sportspersons of Haryana are provided benefits under the new sports policy of the State Government.

        He extended best wishes to the other Paralympics players for their performance in the remaining events and hoped that our players would return with more medals in the remaining competitions as well.
