Trial run of the Emergency Response and Support System Dial 112 started today in Panchkula and Gurugram
Chandigarh, February 11: The trial run of the Emergency Response and Support System Dial 112 was started today in Panchkula and Gurugram, during which about 11,640 calls were received. This system will soon be started across Haryana.
Haryana Home Minister, Anil Vij said that after the implementation of this system, emergency police and other services will be available in any area of the state within 15 to 20 minutes.
Vij said that under this high-tech project of the State Police, as many as 630 new Innova vehicles costing around Rs 94 crore will be made available for these emergency services. Besides this, about 4700 employees will be deployed for providing the emergency services. For the smooth functioning of this system, a new building has been constructed at Panchkula at a cost of around Rs 40 crore and Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) has been given a work order of about Rs 152 crore.
The Home Minister said that with the implementation of this project, the police will immediately reach the crime spot for which two vehicles each per police station will be made available. This will reduce the crime rate in the state.
“In this regard, any complainant can also send their complaints through voice call, message, email, web alert and social media and the employees will be trained for this,” said the Home Minister.
Vij said that four language experts including Hindi, English, Punjabi and Haryanvi will be appointed in call centers to deal with the complaints received from all across the State. After receiving the calls received across the state, the said language expert teams will forward the message to the concerned response team, who will ensure to reach the complainant within maximum time period of 15 minutes in Urban areas and 20 minutes in Rural areas. The backup of this entire process will be recorded at the DGP office and the entire data will also be saved with C-DAC Hyderabad.
