Use of AYUSH medicines has increased during the Covid 19

The use of AYUSH medicines has increased during the Corona Period. The market of Ayurveda medicines has seen two to three fold growth in the year 2020 as compared to the previous year. AYUSH medicines have proved to be helpful in boosting the immunity of people. Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Department of AYUSH, Government of India, said this while expressing his views in the lecture series “Effective Change-Sustainable Results” at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis on the topic “Opportunities in AYUSH Sector Emerged out of Covid-19 Pandemic.” Shri Kotecha said that the process of approval, renewal of license has been expedited with the aim of speeding up the manufacturing of AYUSH products. The scheme of planting medicinal plants on a large scale is being implemented; this will fulfill the demand of drug manufacturers.
