Haryana Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister, Sh. Ranbir Gangwa, on Saturday, distributed grant cheques to various gaushalas at a programme organised in village Dhansu, Hisar. He also inaugurated a shed constructed at the Dhansu Gaushala at a cost of approximately Rs. 17 lakh.
The Cabinet Minister said that the Haryana Government is continuously making efforts for the protection of Gauvansh. Under the Haryana Gauvansh Sanrakshan and Gausamvardhan policy, special emphasis is being laid on providing financial assistance to gaushalas to make them self-reliant. In this regard, an amount of Rs. 84,41,560 was distributed to gaushalas today.
He said that the present government has increased the annual budget for gaushalas to Rs.600 crore, as compared to only Rs. 40 crore before 2014. Through gaushalas, not only are Gauvansh being protected, but organic and natural farming are also being promoted, he added.
He said that organic manure and pesticides prepared from cow dung and urine are highly beneficial for natural farming, as they enhance soil fertility and reduce input costs for farmers.
The Minister called upon farmers to adopt natural farming practices to ensure healthier produce and contribute to environmental conservation.
