Fish Farmers in Haryana to Receive Subsidy Services Within Prescribed Time Limits

The Haryana Government has brought 11 subsidy schemes of the Fisheries Department under the ambit of the Haryana Right to Service Act, 2014, and has prescribed specific timelines for their delivery. This will ensure that beneficiaries receive the benefits of these services within a fixed time frame.

According to a notification issued by Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi, subsidies under the Intensive Fisheries Development Programme for the purchase of an auto vehicle, four-wheeler, or mini tractor-trolley will now be provided within a stipulated period of 40 days.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY), a time limit of 50 days has been fixed for providing subsidies related to the Genetic Improvement Programme and establishment of Nucleus Breeding Centres (NBCs), innovation and innovative activities, startups, incubators and pilot projects, as well as training, awareness, exposure and capacity-building programmes.

Similarly, subsidies for the establishment of an Integrated Ornamental Fish Unit (freshwater fish breeding and rearing), establishment of a Freshwater Ornamental Fish Brood Bank, and promotion of Recreational Fisheries will also be provided within 50 days.

To promote marketing and value addition of fish products, subsidies for e-trading and e-marketing of fish and fish products through e-platforms, modernization of cold storage and ice plants, establishment of fish value-added enterprise units, and extension and support services (Fisheries Service Centres) will also be disbursed within 50 days.

As per the notification, the District Fisheries Officer concerned will serve as the Designated Officer for all these services. The Deputy Director, Fisheries will function as the First Grievance Redressal Authority, while the Director, Fisheries will act as the Second Grievance Redressal Authority.
